Buying a Diamond -For the Beginner

Understand what you need to know if you are going to buy a diamond. Understand what the 4C’s of diamonds actually mean.
During the 2 hours we will explore the terms used to describe diamonds and the basics when you are looking to buy a natural diamond.
It is not a grading course! It is not a course on coloured diamonds or lab created diamonds.
It is a course for the consumer to be prepared to buy their next diamond. It is a course for the new jewellery store employee to learn basics about diamonds.
Diamonds-In the Beginning
The 4 parts that make up Diamond -In the Beginning is a 2 part lesson on the History of the Diamond. We then proceed to look at the Structure and Nature of Diamond followed by The Physical and Optical Properties associated with Diamond. To finish the course we look at the Geology, mining and Recovery that natural diamonds go through to reach us.
Completing this course is the first of a series of courses that combined with a personal practical component will give you a Certificate in Diamond Grading from The Language of Gems. This course is 4 lessons to completion. When completed you will receive a certificate of completion.
